"A university is what a college becomes when the faculty loses interest in students."
The above quote resonates with me. The noble idea of teaching and challenging sudents as seen in the liberal arts colleges has given way to the corporate and practical research led university where students get in the way of research.
I will posit a contrarian view that the liberal arts colleges will see a Renaissance as students look for personal attention and an opportunity to grapple with ideas in an
interdisciplinary environment. Long live the BA and BS.
