I Can Understand Proust Dropouts

Slugged on tonight and read another 10 pages of Within a Budding Grove, Volume 2 of In Search of Lost Time by Proust. The writing style is great but somewhat dense...like Dickens on steroids!

I almost shudder when I pick up the book but usually enjoy the read once I get started.

I shall complete my mission.

Grant, more often than not I find the books that require the most effort are ultimately the most rewarding. I remember struggling through the first 100 pages of Narcissus & Goldmund and almost giving up, and then something changed and I was hooked. From then on, I could feel the unread pages diminishing and I just didn't want the book to end. Proust has sat unread on my shelves for a decade. You have inspired me to tackle this work. Thank you
